Girls With Power

What does it mean to truly GLOW?

At Girls With Power, we believe leadership starts from within. Our GLOW Leadership Workshop was created to give young women a space to reflect on who they are, discover their strengths, and leave feeling more confident in the leader they can become.

Throughout the workshop, girls participated in interactive activities centered around GROW, LEAD, OWN, and WIN—four steps that encourage personal growth and leadership.

G-GROW: Discovering Who You Are

We began with “What Makes Me, Me?”, an activity designed to help girls reflect on themselves beyond the things they see every day.

They identified:

  • Something they are proud of

  • Something they want to improve

  • Something they are passionate about

  • Something they want to accomplish

Girls then shared their answers with a partner, creating an opportunity to connect and realize that everyone is growing in their own way.

The biggest lesson? Growth begins with knowing yourself. Recognizing your strengths doesn't mean you have nothing left to improve. It means understanding where you are and being confident enough to keep moving forward.

L-LEAD: Finding Your Voice

Leadership isn't about being the loudest person in the room or having a title.

During the “You're the Leader” Challenge, girls worked in teams to solve real-world leadership scenarios. They had to communicate, share ideas, listen to different perspectives, and work together to create solutions.

Through this activity, girls learned that leadership requires teamwork, communication, confidence, and the ability to make decisions. They also discovered that there isn't just one way to be a leader.

Sometimes leadership looks like speaking up. Sometimes it looks like listening. And sometimes it simply means being the person willing to take the first step.

O-OWN: Believing in Yourself

The OWN challenge encouraged girls to step into their confidence and recognize the power they already have.

Through reflection and discussion, girls were encouraged to think about their values and the things that make them unique.

OWN was about more than confidence; it was about taking ownership of who you are and where you want to go.

Girls learned that they don't have to wait for someone else to give them permission to dream bigger, speak up, or take up space. Their ideas and voices have value right now.

W-WIN: Turning Goals Into Action

Winning isn't always about being the best or reaching a perfect outcome.

For the WIN portion of the workshop, girls reflected on what success means to them and thought about the goals they want to work toward. They created their own My GLOW goals, connecting what they discovered throughout the workshop to a personal next step.

The focus was on turning inspiration into action.

Girls learned that big accomplishments start with small decisions—and that every step forward counts.

The GLOW Leadership Workshop gave girls the opportunity to do more than participate in activities. They had the chance to reflect, collaborate, speak up, challenge themselves, and connect with other young women.

Most importantly, they left with a stronger understanding that leadership isn't something you have to wait to become.

You can lead now.

You can grow now.

You can own your voice now.

And you can start working toward your goals now.

That is what GLOW is all about.

GROW with purpose.

LEAD with confidence.

OWN your voice.

WIN by becoming the person you know you can be.

And this is only the beginning.💜
