One Moment, One Leader: Dream Job Business Card

At Girls With Power, we believe that true leadership begins in the smallest moments, and that one conversation can shape a girl’s confidence if she is given the support she needs. 

That’s exactly why we began our One Moment, One Leader mentorship campaign. Through this initiative, Girls With Power Ambassadors act as mentors by seeking out a younger girl in their community, whether that be a sibling, neighbor, or family friend. With their mentees, they spend time doing a fun, leadership-focused activity designed to spark confidence and innovation in the next generation of leaders. 

Last month, mentors and mentees engaged in our “Dream Job Business Card” activity, where young girls were encouraged to think about their future careers and the type of impact they want to make. With support from their mentors, each girl designed a business card, featuring elements like a dream job title, a motto that reflects their values, key skills, and a statement about how they will make an impact. The activity resulted in cards that were both creative and empowering.

One Moment Can Shape One Leader

In total, 13 of our ambassadors were able to share a special moment with a mentee. That means that 13 young girls were given the space to feel heard and empowered. What stood out most about this initiative was how mentees were encouraged to think beyond just what they want to be, and more about how they can make positive change in their communities. In just one small moment, sparking these thoughts is exactly where meaningful leadership begins.
